Scotland delivers a crushing blow to Zimbabwe, knocking them out of the ICC Cricket World Cup

Scotland outplayed Zimbabwe in a very important and decisive match of ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 at Queens Sports Club,Bulwayo on 4th July 2023.With this defeat Zimbabwe is knocked out of the ICC World cup 2023 to be hosted by India.

Earlier,Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl first.They struggled to take wickets with the new ball but never gave away runs easily and kept the things quite tight.Overall it was a very good bowling performance from Zimbabwe.The man of the moment was Sean Williams who picked up 3 quick wickets and made Zimbabwe the favorites to win the match but some spectacular shots from Leask and Watt surged them to 234 runs which seemed to be slightly below par at that time.

At the halfway mark in the end of first innings,it looked like Zimbabwe would win easily. But Zimbabwe lost 4 big wickets inside the powerplay.Chris Sole was the man who started to boss the game by taking wickets at the start of the 2nd innings.They were 37/4 in just 7.5 overs,and after the loss of Raza in the 18th over Zimbabwe were in deep trouble .

Later Ryan Burl and Madhevere brought the belief back that they can do it but all in vain as Zimbabwe kept loosing wickets.With a length delivery on off stumps that nipped in the bat and hit the top of off-stump,Chatara was bowled out. Zimbabwe lost the match by 31 runs and bows out of the ICC Cricket World cup 2023.Scotland’s patch to India Opens up now as they will be playing against Netherland in a playoff game that is a decider now for the place in the ICC World Cup
